2023 Culvert Replacement Program

Each year, Road Cross Culverts are identified for replacement throughout the County of Lapeer.  These replacements are due to upcoming projects or the condition assessments of the asset.   The Lapeer CRC is legally responsible for maintaining drainage along the Right of Way for Road Use.  This responsibility includes keeping all drainage cross culverts clean and monitoring their conditions.  Cross Culverts are utilized under roadways to convey road drainage from one side of the Road to the other.  Driveway approach culverts are similar in that they convey road drainage between each side of the driveway approach, however, these culverts are the responsibility of the home owner.  During Cross Culvert inspections, the Lapeer CRC determines if a culvert is in disrepair.  If so, this culvert is planned for replacement during the construction season.  Updates for culvert replacements are posted on our Facebook page for each location, as schedules are determined.
